Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Electrical Foreman in California to plan, coordinate, and supervise commercial electrical installations under project management guidance.

The role blends hands-on electrical work with leadership of journeymen and apprentices, ensuring NEC compliance, productivity, and deadlines. A California Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred but not required, with travel and night shifts possible.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of experience as a commercial electrical journeyman.
• Minimum two years of foreman experience, preferably from retail construction projects.
• Current California Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver license with ability to pass pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily work of journeymen and apprentices while performing electrical installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, panel schedules, and drawings to lay out work and assign tasks.
• Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, and progress to meet schedules and installation requirements.
• Install, bend, route, and secure conduit, raceways, cable trays, and cabling per project specs.
• Install wiring, junction boxes, receptacles, switches, lighting fixtures, and commercial equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and conduct toolbox talks for training and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades on sequencing, material needs, and deadlines.
• Inspect completed work and enforce NEC codes and company standards.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and operate from ladders or lifts as required.
