Job summary

Waukesha Bearings in Antigo, WI is seeking a dedicated CNC Machinist to read drawings, set up CNC milling and turning operations, and produce precision components for critical energy markets. You will work with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and GD&T standards, while following safety and lean manufacturing practices in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience with precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges.
  • One year Machine Tool Operation certificate from college or technical school; or 3–6 months related experience.
  • Ability to apply geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages and ratios to practical tasks.
  • Experience operating CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code) and CAM software for toolpaths.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments confidently.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and lean manufacturing in a fast-paced setting.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to ITAR and UNNPI regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and participate in advancing the safety culture of the facility.
  • Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, setup, and operating requirements.
  • Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
  • Interpret work instructions.
  • Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations.
  • Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze
  • Read, understand, edit and/or write programs.
  • Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
  • Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
  • Adhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and procedures.
  • Seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring.
  • Create and maintain a team focused work environment.

Duties

The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following Experience, Skills, And Abilities:

  • At minimum Manufacturing experience with prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges

  • One year Machine Tool Operation certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • The ideal candidate can work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.

  • The ideal candidate has knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and CAM programming software for toolpath creation.

  • The ideal candidate has familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.

  • The ideal candidate has ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently.

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices within a fast-paced production setting.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR and UNNPI regulatory requirements)
