Job summary

Dover Precision Components, part of the Dover Corporation, is seeking a skilled machinist at our Antigo, Wisconsin facility.

You will operate CNC milling machines and lathes, read blueprints, apply GD&T, set up tooling, measure parts, and participate in safety and continuous improvement.

We value candidates with a year of machine tool operation training or related experience, and a strong commitment to quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience with precision inspection equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints and GD&T standards.
• Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry to practical tasks.
• Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with CNC programming languages and CAM software.

Responsibilities

• Promote and participate in safety culture at the facility.
• Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine specifications and requirements.
• Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
• Interpret work instructions.
• Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations.
• Calculate proper feeds and speeds for various materials.
• Read, understand, edit and/or write CNC programs.
• Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
• Perform quality inspections and ensure compliance with quality systems.

Duties

• Actively promote and participate in advancing the safety culture of the facility.
• Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
• Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
• Interpret work instructions.
• Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.
• Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze
• Read, understand, edit and/or write programs.
• Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
• Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
• Adhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and procedures.
• Seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.
• Set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring.
• Create and maintain a team focused work environment.

The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following Experience, Skills, And Abilities:

• At minimum Manufacturing experience with prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges
• One year Machine Tool Operation certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• The ideal candidate can work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• The ideal candidate has knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and CAM programming software for toolpath creation.
• The ideal candidate has familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
• The ideal candidate has ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices within a fast-paced production setting.
• Must be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR and UNNPI regulatory requirements)
