Job summary

SMS group Inc. is seeking a Lathe Operator to set up and operate engine lathes and horizontal boring mills, performing complex machining on rolls and components to meet quality standards. Must read blueprints, measure with micrometers, and run CNC programs with Fanuc/Mazatrol controllers.

The role supports a night shift from 7pm to 7am and requires 2–5 years of CNC lathe experience, a HS diploma, and a valid driver’s license. SMS group Inc.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years CNC Lathe experience.
• Certification in Fanuc/Mazatrol controllers preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Read micrometers and other measuring devices as well as blueprints.
• Calculate tolerances from blueprints and convert to/from metric/standard.
• Use precision measuring tools and record measurements and pertinent info as required.
• Follow instructions and established procedures.
• Set up and operate engine lathe and accessories to perform operations on rolls and other parts to meet QA requirements.
• Set up and operate horizontal boring mill and accessories to perform complex, precise machining for components.
