Job summary

Kennametal Stellite Inc. in LaVergne, TN is seeking a CNC Operator III - Entry-US for a 3rd shift (Sun-Thu, 11pm-7am). Operate 4- to 5-axis end-form grinders and work with EWAG Compact, Linear, and Haas machines to produce precision components in a temperature-controlled environment.

The role includes setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and tooling maintenance, with a $3.00/hr shift differential. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success in this hands-on manufacturing

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required, with strong attention to detail.
2+ years of CNC machining experience (milling, turning, or grinding).
Solid understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds/speeds, and setup processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions.
Comfort with standing for long periods and lifting up to 33 pounds.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and commitment to safety."

Basic understanding of G-code or CNC programming preferred.
Experience with Penta, Haas, Combi or similar platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC 4- and 5-axis end-form grinders, loading and unloading inserts from multiple machines.
Perform quality inspections using precision measurement tools to ensure proper dimensions and visual characteristics.
Troubleshoot moderate to complex problems and adjust grinding programs to optimize cycles.
Maintain tooling and equipment, resurfacing as needed to ensure optimal machine performance.
Document production information accurately and communicate safety, quality, and product issues across shifts.
