The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Neuro ICU at Cambridge Tower A. The role involves delivering basic nursing care under RN supervision, monitoring vitals, glucose, I&O, and assisting with ADLs while ensuring safety and compassionate patient care.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and CNA certification, with at least 18 months in patient care. BLS certification within 14 days is also required.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Hold a CNA license or complete Gold Standard Intern Program.
• Fundamentals of nursing courses preferred.
• Minimum 18 months in a relevant patient care role required.

Mansioni

• Perform professional, clinical and technical competencies for the unit/department.
• Provide basic nursing skills including vitals, glucose, ADLs, I&O, and specimen collection.
• Document tasks in O2 with accuracy (I&O, meals).
• Maintain clean patient rooms and a safe environment, including fall risk precautions.
• Practice hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation principles.
• Assist in patient care including restraints, ROM, and fluids/toileting; reorient confused patients.
• Notify RN promptly of changes in patient status or discomfort.
• Adhere to unit-specific duties; perform other assigned tasks.
