Job summary

Covenant Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Flex Pool at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge in East Tennessee. This full-time position requires night shifts and a 72-hour pay period, supporting a dedicated nursing team under RN supervision.

The role involves vital sign checks, patient care, meal delivery, ambulation assistance, transport, and documentation, with emphasis on safety and timely communication. Certification and CPR training are required as stated.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and successfully completed hospital-approved formal training.
• Ability to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Understands patient care tasks appropriate for nursing assistants and traction setup.

Responsibilities

• Takes and records patient's vital signs.
• Promptly completes personal care of patients.
• Delivers meal trays to patients.
• Assists patients with ambulation.
• Assists with lifting, moving, transporting and discharging patients.
• Responds promptly to patient calls.
• Obtains and delivers necessary supplies, equipment or specimens.
• Observes and reports significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient and unit areas.
• Restocks patient and unit supplies.
• Non-essential functions: other duties as assigned.
• Cannot pose a direct threat to health or safety; demonstrates competency in unit-specific functions.
• Removes medications from the delivery system and gives to appropriate nursing staff.
