Job summary

Northridge Rehabilitation & Care Center in North Ridgeville, Ohio, seeks a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our nursing team. Under supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide routine care, assist with activities of daily living, and support residents to stay clean, comfortable, and well groomed.

This position offers flexible hours from full-time to part-time and emphasizes compassion, infection control, and teamwork within a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides care and duties as allowed by the Ohio Board of nursing
• Received report on assigned residents at the start of shift. At the end of work period gives updated report to charge nurse.
• Keeps call button and other care items within reach of resident.
• Answers lights and requests promptly, assures residents in safe position when exiting the room
• Supplies residents with fresh drinking water in clean pitchers.
• Assists residents with shower shampoo, nail care, oral hygiene, dressing and grooming.
• Transports assigned residents to and from activities.
• Positions and turns bedfast/ chair fast residents every two hours or more as required
• Assists residents with ambulation
• Assists residents with toileting
• Assists with restorative nursing and rehabilitation programs
• Keeps residents' rooms neat; trash removal each shift; attends removed at the time of removal
• Documents in resident EHR (PointClickCare) as dictated in the Point of Care section
• Supports the resident's goals and plan of care
• Communicates in a professional compassionate manner to all residents
• Understands infection control and adheres to PPE requirements at all times
• Practices good handwashing between residents
• Reports care refusals to Licensed nurse at time of occurrence
• Checks air mattresses and cushions to assure required skin prevention support is present
• Reports changes of conditions in residents to nurse as they occur
• Reports concerns voiced by resident or family member to supervisor as they occur

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision of license nurse, provides routine nursing care to residents. Assists as needed with activities of daily living to ensure that assigned residents are clean, comfortable, properly dressed and well groomed at all times. Assists assigned residents with meals and snacks. Treats residents with kindness and respect. Encourages residents to maintain independence and self-confidence by offering choices whenever possible. Understands and promotes "Residents Rights".

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
