Job summary

Mercy Health's Jewish Hospital seeks a Pharmacist to perform medication management ensuring safe, rational and cost-effective therapy. You will maintain compliance with applicable rules and collaborate across pharmacy teams to protect patient safety.

Responsibilities include medication review, supervision of staff, inventory security, and education of patients to promote adherence. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required).
• Advanced pharmacy degree (PhD, Masters, Residency) preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in the practicing state(s).
• 2 years of recent acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy.
• Ensure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products with safe handling.
• Oversee distributive functions to ensure timely medication availability.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Maintain security of pharmacy inventory.
• Identify and resolve potential adverse medication events and document as needed.
• Provide medication education to improve patient understanding and adherence.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy team, providers, patients and leaders.
• Participate in medication safety, quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
