Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown unit. This full-time night shift role leads daily nursing operations, oversees staffing, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives, and provides direct patient care as needed.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, BSN (preferred), and BLS/ACLS certifications, with 2+ years of clinical nursing experience including supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• CCRN certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily nursing operations and supervise clinical staff.
• Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource utilization.
• Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Drive quality improvement and operational excellence.
• Serve as unit leader in the absence of the Director or Nurse Manager.
• Provide direct patient care as needed within RN scope of practice.
