Job summary
Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown unit. This full-time night-shift role leads daily nursing operations, oversees staffing, and ensures safe, high-quality patient care.
Requirements include an active RN license, BSN preferred, BLS and ACLS on hire, and at least 2 years of clinical nursing with 1 year in leadership. A sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
- BSN preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily nursing operations and supervise clinical staff.
- Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource utilization.
- Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Drive quality improvement and operational excellence.
- Serve as unit leader in the absence of the Director or Nurse Manager.
- Provide direct patient care as needed within RN scope of practice.
