Holy Cross Health in Germantown, MD is seeking a Clinical Nurse – Med/Surg/Telemetry for a full-time 36-hour weekly night shift. The RN will deliver bedside care, assess and plan care, and support post-surgical patients within a 30-bed Med/Surg/Telemetry unit.

This role emphasizes collaboration with a vRN and CNA, focusing on stroke/neuro patients, with strong emphasis on education for patients and families and utilization of electronic patient management systems.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; agreement to obtain BSN/MSN within a specified time frame if not present on hire.
• Current RN licensure in Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in collaborative planning, coordinating, and delivering quality care to medical and telemetry patients that are acutely ill; focus on stroke/neuro patients.
• Facilitate best practices to deliver quality care through nursing interventions and communication of results to the healthcare team.
• Provide education to patients and families for all medical diagnoses (respiratory, cardiac, GI, renal, neuro, endocrine).
