Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Full Time Nights) to perform laboratory testing on patient samples, manage pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases, and ensure quality control, documentation, and reporting.

Reporting to the CLS Lead, the role requires a California CLS license, a Bachelor’s degree, and at least one year of clinical laboratory experience (internship considered).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience; internship may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process samples and perform pre-analytical handling and testing.
• Carry out analytical and post-analytical testing following SOPs.
• Maintain quality control and equipment maintenance documentation.
• Troubleshoot instruments and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Ensure proper labeling, inventory management, and supplies workflow.
• Document and report results accurately to medical staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and comply with safety policies.
• Support a rigorous reporting process and compliance standards.
