Job summary

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a Per-Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist for night shifts. You will ensure the validity of test results, apply specimen criteria, and perform routine instrument maintenance while maintaining QC standards.

You will collaborate with physicians and care teams, adhere to laws, and participate in staff training. Required is a CLS license in California, a Fire Card, and ARC within 30 days.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a hospital laboratory.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Extensive experience working with physicians and other clinicians; examples of collaboration.
• Must be able to work in a union environment.
• California CL Scientist license, Fire Card and ARC within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assures validity of test results.
• Applies criteria for specimen rejection and QC calibration.
• Maintains instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Interprets quality control data and takes decisions.
• Uses laboratory computer system for ordering, reports and downtime procedures.
• Follows applicable laws and regulations in the lab.
• Participates in training of new employees.
• Maintains patient safety, and communicates clearly with care teams.
