Responsibilities

• Assures validity of test results.
• Applies criteria for specimen rejection.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Quality Control, calibration and standardization of instruments.
• Troubleshoots instruments and performs routine preventive maintenance.
• Familiar with laboratory computer systems for ordering, reports and downtime procedures.
• Adheres to laws and regulations governing the laboratory.
• Participates in training of new employees.
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff across age groups.
