UofL Health's University Hospital – UMC in Louisville, KY is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead unit operations during night shifts. The role supports the Clinical Manager and Nursing Director, oversees staffing, assignments, resource management, and quality initiatives, and serves as a professional role model for nursing practice.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN (BSN preferred), 6 months of frontline nursing, Kentucky RN license, and BLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 6 months frontline patient care experience required.
• Active Kentucky RN license or compact license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with staffing, performance evaluations, and quality improvement.

Responsabilités

• Actively contributes to evaluating and fulfilling staffing and resource needs within the department’s budget.
• Provides mentorship and education to nursing staff and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Leads patient and preceptor assignments and ensures alignment with patient acuity and staff expertise.
• Participates in performance evaluations and coaching in accordance with policy.
• Supports service excellence and magnet designation efforts.
