Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami is seeking a Charge Nurse Med Surg Nights to lead and coordinate patient care on the unit. You will partner with the RN team, report to the Nursing Manager, and help maintain high quality, safe care while supporting throughput and patient flow.

The CNC role emphasizes staff development, scheduling input, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or recognized compact licensure.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 2 Years Associate Degree/Diploma
• Bachelor Degree preferred
• 1-3 years experience in Charge Position Role-PREFERRED

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to promote teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs.
• Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and ensure disciplinary actions when needed.
• Assist with inventory control and supplies management.
