Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an RN Clinical Charge Nurse for the Night shift (7pm-7am) in our MedSurg acute care unit. The role directs daily unit activities, leads a multidisciplinary team, and ensures safe, high-quality patient care across shifts.

The Charge Nurse collaborates with nurse managers and physicians, drives staff development, and supports governance models and clinical practice standards essential to Wellstar’s mission and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (AD/Diploma).
• Current Georgia RN license; BLS from American Heart Association on first day. National certification in area of specialty preferred (depends on service area).
• One year of nursing experience required; two years preferred; relief charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily unit activities during assigned shift to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Lead staff scheduling, unit patient flow, and coordination with physicians and managers.
• Promote evidence-based practice and professional nursing standards; mentor team members.
