Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse RN for the night shift to lead the nursing team and ensure high-quality patient care. You will coordinate unit operations, oversee care delivery, and mentor staff while maintaining compliance with policies and standards.

The role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and calm decision-making under pressure, with emphasis on teamwork, EHR proficiency, and effective communication with patients and physicians.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• BSN preferred.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Charge nurse or leadership experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities and workflow on the unit.
• Provide direct patient care and oversee care by nursing staff.
• Make patient assignments based on acuity and staff competencies.
• Mentor nursing staff and provide guidance and support.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes or emergencies.
• Conduct rounds to assess patient needs and staff performance.
• Address patient and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit meetings.
• Manage unit supplies and equipment inventory.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
