Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) to join our team for overnight shifts. You will perform respiratory therapies, diagnostics, and patient assessments under physician orders, focusing on safe and effective patient care across age groups.

The role requires NBRC CRT certification and an active RCP license, with BLS/ACLS/PALS compliance. Prior acute care experience is preferred; two years is requested.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC required (hired before March 2026, exempt).
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification from AHA required within 60 days of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-support equipment.
• Possible rapid response involvement for airway management and resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
