Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma, Central Sterile certification, BLS, and prior experience in a comparable position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Central Sterile certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Previous experience in a comparable position preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, verbal).
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and push/pull instrument carts.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of all sterilization methods.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique.
• Performs and prepares required daily tests for all sterilizers following written procedures.
• Takes requests from other departments and fills requests accurately and timely.
• Issues and returns equipment and maintains patient charges.
• Receives soiled instruments, decontaminates and processes according to procedures.
• Examines and tests all instruments according to procedures.
• Packages instrument sets according to written protocol.
• Loads and unloads sterilizers and handles sterile goods with care.
