Job summary

Performance Food Group in Manassas, VA, is hiring an Entry Level Driver Trainee for night routes serving local customers. You will learn to drive tractor-trailers, perform safety checks, and complete deliveries from the PFG training program.

You will work a night schedule on Sunday through Thursday, with routes starting around 9pm to 2am, and locations include Manassas or Sterling, VA. Training and growth opportunities are emphasized as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Internal PFG Candidates: 1 year of service in good standing.
• External Entry Level Hire: 0-6 months experience with a CDL A.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries.
• Perform required safety checks and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspect trailer, load checks, and complete required paperwork.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders per route schedule.
• Unload products, obtain signatures, and handle payments where required.
• Secure tractor, trailer, and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours of service logs.
• Perform general housekeeping and complete necessary paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
