Job summary

Oscar Winski Metals Recycling in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Night Shift Truck Driver with a Class A CDL (or B for roll-off). You will operate over-the-road equipment (26,000 lbs+ with air brakes) and transport materials between sites, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires diligent pre-trip/post-trip inspections, load securement, accurate trip logs, and strong communication with office staff. DOT/OSHA qualifications apply and a valid MVR is required.

Qualifications

• Possess valid Class A CDL, or Class B for roll-off and lugger driving only.
• Pass review of MVR (no more than 6 points allowed for insurance coverage)
• Pass driving test administered by Oscar Winski personnel
• Pass CDL physical at designated facility
• Complete all paperwork required for the Driver Qualification File
• This position falls under DOT random drug screen regulations
• Truck driver is also required to open and close container doors

Responsibilities

• Completes daily truck inspections (pre-trip/post-trip) to ensure safety and equipment readiness
• Operates company equipment to transport material
• Maintains required safety certifications (DOT/OSHA)
• Secures loads according to regulations and company policy
• Completes daily trip logs and communicates with office staff
• Provides excellent customer service to customers
• Other duties as assigned
