Qualifications

• California RN license required at hire.
• 6 months to 1-year RN I experience at MarinHealth Medical Center or unit-specific addendum.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at hire.
• IAMTAC required within 30 days of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale Training and Cert required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Formulates a nursing diagnosis through observation of the patient's physical condition and behavior, and through interpretation of information from the client and health team.
• Develops age-specific care planning with the patient to ensure safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Performs essential nursing skills, explains treatments to patient and family, and teaches self-care.
• Evaluates care plan effectiveness by observing patient condition and outcomes, updating plan as needed.
• Acts as patient advocate and communicates with health team to improve care decisions.
• Demonstrates leadership by supervising, directing and delegating to care team members.
• Mentors less experienced staff and serves as clinical resource to team, patients, and families.
• Maintains professional accountability for nursing practice.
