Job summary

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping tasks, manual labor, and other activities necessary for the efficient operation of the campus, including offices, classrooms, labs, residence halls, bathrooms, stairwells, elevators, hallways, and other areas.
• Empties trash and recycling containers, transports waste material to outdoor refuse or recycling containers, and may handle hazardous materials as appropriate.
• Performs floor maintenance, cleaning, stripping, waxing, polishing floors, carpet cleaning, stain removal, and uses equipment for cleaning and restoring surfaces.
• Moves and rearranges office furniture and equipment for events such as registrations, commencements, and open houses.
• washes exteriors and windows and maintains service-related equipment; may unlock/lock buildings and ensure security of keys.
• Other duties include maintaining equipment, reporting hazards, and assisting in safe operation of the department.
