Job summary

Guckenheimer is seeking a friendly cashier to support daily café operations in a retail food service setting. You will handle cash transactions, answer customer questions, and help maintain clean, well-stocked beverage areas.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year cashier experience, strong math and communication skills, and familiarity with POS systems. The role requires reliable, time-efficient service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in Retail Cashier or similar role operating cash registers
• Strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with cafeteria or food service operations
• Knowledge of setup/restock beverage and product displays
• Prior knowledge of basic computer skills
• Familiarity with electronic equipment like cash registers and POS systems
• Good math skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction oriented
• Prior experience handling cash and credit card transactions

Responsibilities

• To accurately record sales on a cash register and make change for customers within a 1% margin of error
• Respond to customer concerns in a professional and urgent manner per company’s policy
• Follow all safety rules and be actively aware and observant in prevention of accidents
• To operate Cash Register Accurately
• To recognize menu items and accurately charge customers for purchases
• To prepare and stock service areas for hot and cold beverages
• Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils or equipment
• Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend and preparation descriptions
• Ensure service set up is clean and attractive with proper signage for all cafe stations
• Maintain inventory of all paper, beverage, condiments and grab & go items
• Perform side work and end of shift closeout tasks
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain neat cashier stand appearance
• Work efficiently to move customers through the line while keeping cafe clean per HACCP guidelines
• Assist with front of house setup and break down of food products
• Perform side work including opening and closing shift tasks
• Must follow other duties as assigned
