Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking an automotive technician for field servicing at client sites in Kernersville, NC. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, tire services, diagnostics, and repairs, with on-the-job training and potential road tests.

Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, paid weekly, with a $1 shift differential. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd shifts, with benefits and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• ASE Certification (preferred) and road-test experience are listed as preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Servicing delivery vans for scheduled preventative maintenance at a client site.
• Perform line technician services: oil changes, tire services, inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, brake repairs, fluid exchanges/flushes, tire installation.
• Learn/train to perform advanced repairs and state inspections.
• Training may occur in a customer retail environment before client-site work.

Shift Information

• 2nd Shift: 3PM-2AM
• 3rd Shift: 9PM-7AM

About the Role: What will you do?

• Perform line technician services such as oil changes and tire services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, brake repairs, fluid exchanges/flushes, preventative maintenance, and tire installation
• Learn/train to do advanced repairs and state inspections

Basic Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance
• Valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• ASE Certification (s)
• Previous experience diagnosing vehicles and performing road tests, electrical, air conditioning, and primary and advanced fuel ignition experience
