Job summary

New Dawn Treatment Center in Reno, NV is seeking a compassionate BHT to join our team. You will support clinical excellence by monitoring clients, recording vitals, and educating patients on medications and healthy routines.

The role requires Nevada SAPTA medical and detox certifications, six-hour training, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Join a dedicated team providing evidence-based, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid Nevada SAPTA medical certification and detox certification required.
• Six-hour state training on withdrawals, confidentiality, infectious diseases, vital signs, and ethics required.
• Experience with clients at various levels of care, especially substance use/mental health treatment preferred.
• Valid Nevada driver's license, clean driving record, and personal auto insurance required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• TB test or chest x-ray current.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure individually and in a team.
• Strong project management skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors clients by conducting safety checks.
• Monitors, logs and reports detox withdrawal symptoms and significant changes.
• Monitors and records client vital signs.
• Charts medication observations, shift notes and DAPs in EHR.
• Provides education on medication, substance abuse, healthy lifestyle, and sleep routines.
• Conducts medication pass by observing self-administration of medication.
• Reports medication errors.
• Completes medication count each shift.
• Assists with medication destruction.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules.
• Completes incident reports as needed.
• Transports clients and pick up medication as needed.
• Assists with intakes and completing consent forms.
• Collecting payment and client property inventory.
• Light housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned.
