Job summary

RiverValley Behavioral Health in Owensboro, KY is hiring an entry-level Behavioral Health Technician to support children and adolescents admitted to RVBH Hospital. The role involves supervising, providing a safe environment, and using ABA-based interventions developed by the treatment team.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts (including every other weekend), assist with ADLs, communicate with nursing staff, document progress, and participate in group and 1:1 instruction under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of direct care experience preferred.
• ABA training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess mood and behavior changes and respond appropriately.
• Utilise de-escalation techniques to defuse situations.
• Provide 1:1 and group instruction in communication, ADLs, behavior, and academics as outlined by the treatment team.
• Collaborate with the Senior Behavior Analyst daily.
• Support patient ADLs and room maintenance.
• Document observations per policy and report key information to nursing staff.
• Plan and implement structured activities with Recreation Therapy staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and PPE compliance.
