Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker for our bakery processing plant in Knoxville, TN. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance under supervision to ensure reliable equipment performance.

The job requires forklift operation, welding (MIG/Stick), electrical and mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety practices. Regular night shifts are expected, with potential on-call duties and involvement in safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in operating a forklift.
• Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanicals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of new equipment.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedule.
• Train Level 1 Maintenance personnel if above level 1 maintenance.
• Perform machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, run threaded piping, run weld piping, overhaul pumps, replace packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps, welds and uses cutting torch.
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and replace equipment parts with little or no direction.
• Diagnose and repair control circuits and VFD installation.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Use and observe all safety rules and regulations; attend safety meetings; may serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.
