Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in our bakery processing facility while reporting to supervision.

The role includes assisting with equipment installation, following maintenance schedules, and supporting the maintenance team on special projects. This position requires forklift experience and skills in welding, electrical and mechanical tasks, with physical duties including lifting up to 100 lbs and rotating night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience operating a forklift is preferred.
• Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the installation of new equipment.
• Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
• Trains Level 1 Maintenance personnel if above level 1 maintenance.
• Performs machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, running threaded piping, welding piping, overhaul pumps, packing shaft seals.
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnosis and replacement of equipment parts with little or no direction.
• Ability to diagnose and repair control circuits and VFD installation.
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Adheres to safety rules and participates in safety meetings.
