Job summary

Tampa Behavioral Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Assessment Coordinator to manage initial psychiatric assessments for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and emotional disorders. You'll coordinate admissions, document calls, and support the Care Coordination team in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

The role emphasizes strong clinical assessment, crisis response readiness, and seamless patient intake processes within a 3x12 night schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical assessment skills required.
• CPR certification and CPI within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Assess walk-in and phone callers to determine services or referrals and schedule initial psychiatric assessments.
• Answer inquiry calls, present treatment options, document calls and set appointments.
• Collaborate with Care Coordination to ensure efficient admission process and refer or triage patients as appropriate.
• Provide clerical support to the Care Coordination Manager and team, including data entry.
• Maintain stock of forms and supplies for the Care Coordination Department.
• Check in patient belongings, process consent forms, and coordinate admission paperwork.
• Schedule assessment appointments and orient patients to units and programs; assist with discharges and document sending.
