Job summary

Abbott in Tipp City, OH is hiring an Analytical Chemist Laboratory Supervisor for the night shift. This on-site role leads a small team, ensures quality and compliance, and drives key performance metrics across EHS, Quality, Finance and Productivity.

You will supervise 3–6 lab staff, manage staffing, training, and budget, maintain a safe lab environment, and participate in internal and external quality audits. Bachelor’s degree preferred; 4 years lab leadership experience may substitute.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field; 4+ years lab leadership or equivalent experience acceptable with HS diploma
• Experience leading teams and delivering quality/safety outcomes in a lab/manufacturing setting
• Proficiency with project planning tools and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily results for a single shift in a 7-day-a-week lab operation.
• Coordinate shift activities to meet KPI targets across EHS, Quality, Finance, Productivity and People.
• Lead quality/compliance efforts; initiate decisions impacting product quality.
• Supervise 3–6 lab staff; manage staffing, training, mentoring and performance reviews; maintain a safe lab environment.
• Ensure lab results comply with plant, division and corporate guidelines; ensure test methods are followed.
• Engage with stakeholders to meet EHS requirements and regulatory objectives.
• Participate in internal/external quality audits and CAPA activities; implement corrective actions.
• Monitor budget and headcount; manage overtime, expenses and CIP projects.
