Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive in Hodges, SC, is seeking a Chemist for the night shift (7:00 pm to 7:30 am) to ensure product safety, quality and efficacy.

You will perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products, maintain notebooks, and support equipment calibrations and validations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in analytical laboratory environment.
• Practical experience working under cGMP and FDA regulatory guidelines.
• Familiar with quality systems (LIR, CAPA, calibration, validation, change control).
• Proficient with standard computer applications (Excel, Sheets, Slides).
• Ability to work 12-hour shift with 24/7 manufacturing coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing and physical evaluation of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to support timely product releases.
• Perform physical and chemical testing according to standard procedures using wet-chemistry and basic instrumental techniques.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and records.
• Work as a member of the Laboratory Team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow SOPs and global/local methods (USP, AOCS, ASTM).
• Provide training to employees on SOPs and procedures.
• Support Operations with analytical equipment and testing procedures.
• Operate basic troubleshooting on instruments (HPLC, Autotitrator, Karl Fischer, NIR, UV-Vis, FTIR).
• Perform daily/monthly instrument calibrations to ensure proper operation.
• Support equipment validations via IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Assist with product, equipment, and Cleaning & Sanitizing validations.
• Participate in OOS investigations and Laboratory Investigation Reports.
