Job summary

TriHealth invites applications for an Acute Care Tech II in the Observation Unit, supporting RN‑led patient care in a high‑acuity environment at Bethesda North Hospital. This on‑site, full‑time role requires strong communication and teamwork to manage patient flow and safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily care under RN supervision, documenting tasks, and maintaining a safe unit. BLS required; 17+ with a work permit, and familiarity with hospital call systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of high school education required.
• Age 17+ with work permit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required.
• Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.
• Experience with multi-line phones, call systems, and pagers.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document basic patient care tasks under RN supervision while maintaining competencies.
• Assist with patient flow and communication using multi-line phones, call systems, and telecommunication devices.
• Maintain a clean, safe care environment; identify and report safety hazards and complete safety event reports.
• Initiate emergency calls (Code Blue, Fire, Special Alert, Rapid Response) per hospital protocol.
• Support documentation, medical record maintenance, and computer downtime procedures per TriHealth standards.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
