Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Edina, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. The role involves 12-hour night shifts (72 hours per two weeks), with every third weekend, and access to medical, dental, and other benefits.

This unit focuses on post-op general surgery care with telemetry capabilities; the team supports patients across multiple surgical specialties and collaborates closely with nurses to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; may need to obtain BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Completion of Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or another Fairview nursing assistant program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in long-term, home, or acute care settings.
• Enrollment in an LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program with at least one semester of clinical rotation.
• Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in delivering patient care and transporting patients/equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms; order and stock supplies.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.
• Document tasks performed on appropriate forms; monitor patient condition and respond to call lights.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during transfers and ambulation.
