Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This role supports the nursing team with basic patient care, room setup, and supplies management on a 12-hour night shift, 60 hours every two weeks, with every third weekend rotation.

The unit focuses on fast-paced care with rapid recovery and discharge. Eligibility includes BLS, possible OnTrack training, and potential enrollment in nursing programs; registry certification upon

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required for all Nursing Assistants.
• Completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant or equivalent program is preferred.
• Six months of direct care experience in long-term, home care, or acute care settings is acceptable.
• Enrollment in an LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program with clinical rotation is eligible.
• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification upon hire is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care and transporting patients/equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms and stock supplies.
• Document tasks on appropriate forms and respond to call lights.
• Monitor patient conditions and report abnormal findings to the RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
• Provide basic patient care including grooming, bathing, feeding, and hygiene.
