Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Monitor to provide security for program premises and safety for clients, visitors, and staff. Driving ability is preferred and on-site work is required.

The role involves shelter entrance monitoring, bag and person screening, patrols, and reporting. Candidates should be able to handle challenging situations with professionalism and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• Experience handling difficult, uncooperative clients.
• Clean driving record and valid CA driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit.
• Screen bags and persons entering the shelter.
• Patrol premises to deter theft and ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with police/fire as needed.
• Complete incident reports and logs of daily activities.
