Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. Groton, CT, is seeking a dedicated operator in our Structurals division. This on-site, full-time role covers preparation of molds, coating operations, and cycle monitoring in a continuous production environment, with nightly shift hours Monday to Friday.

You will work with robotic and manual dipping equipment, maintain process paperwork, and uphold safety standards. The position offers a 10% shift differential and potential overtime, with a quarterly incentive bonus

Qualifications

• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred; foundry or metals-processing experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and apply ordinary arithmetic, decimals, and fractions in daily work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shell process sheets and work instructions for each production part number.
• Prepare molds and pattern assemblies for processing by removing from racks and installing fixtures.
• Operate robotic dipping equipment, monitor/adjust speeds and cycles, reset after alarms.
• Monitor dip cycles to ensure proper coating coverage and consistency.
• Manually immerse wax assemblies and molds into wash solutions and slurry tanks per specs.
• Apply slurry coatings to ensure complete and uniform coverage.
• Position, rotate, and coat molds using manipulators and handling equipment.
• Handle specific parts to identify wet spots, pockets, remove loose sand, ensure slurry adhesion.
• Prepare and replenish slurry mixtures per formulas and procedures.
• Clean and maintain slurry tanks and equipment; perform periodic turnarounds.
• Record dipping times, dates and data on process sheets.
• Visually inspect molds and coatings for defects.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly; sweep, wash, scrape, dispose waste.
• Operate forklifts to move materials and waste safely.
• Follow safety rules, procedures, and PPE at all times.
• Report malfunctions or safety concerns to supervision promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
