Job summary

Walsworth in Marceline, MO is seeking a Sheetfed Press – Assistant to support the Pressman on a four-color press. This hourly position covers the 3rd shift (night) and requires attention to registration, plate handling and maintenance tasks.

You will learn press operation, handle setup tasks, monitor ink balance and paper delivery, and troubleshoot jams while following job tickets and safety guidelines. Candidates should be able to lift 40 lbs and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs repeatedly.
• Must be able to do simple math, differentiate color and read.
• Required to learn how to operate a press.
• Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and general mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pressman in setup, operation and maintenance of a four-color press.
• Hang and position plates to secure correct color registration.
• Fill water fountain with proper chemical mixture.
• Adjust feeder guides, grippers and pile height for proper paper delivery.
• Correct machine malfunctions such as misfeeds, misregister, paper jams, etc.
• Pack plates and blankets to secure proper pressures.
• Follow instructions on job tickets.
• All other duties as assigned.
