Job summary

Marksman Security Corporation is hiring immediately for a Full Time Security Officer in Alabama. The 3rd shift runs Monday through Thursday, 10:00PM to 6:00AM, with Friday through Sunday off. The role focuses on protecting people, property and assets across client sites while delivering strong customer service.

You’ll perform patrols, monitor CCTV and access control, greet residents, and enforce site rules. We provide training and opportunities for advancement, plus licensing and CPR courses.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Valid state licensing.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Minimum of one year of security experience.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug).
• Position requires physical activities including crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge and greet all residents and guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Manage all guest/visitor access as needed and eject trespassers or violators from premises when deemed necessary.
• Verify credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles.
• Document and maintain a log of visitors and notify residents of a visitor’s arrival.
• Assist in protecting others and equipment while enforcing policies and procedures.
• Monitor and/or detect any suspicious behavior to assist in the prevention of vandalism, theft, and/or other criminal behavior.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms.
• Patrol the perimeter (interior/exterior) to identify potential safety and security risks.
• Warn violators of infractions, e.g., loitering, smoking, and/or possession of prohibited items.
• Respond to calls of distress, alarms, and/or emergencies such as fire, injuries, or the presence of unauthorized individuals by contacting local first responders.
• Identify and report concerns (safety, security breaches, unusual circumstances) promptly.
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of required documentation (reports/documents).
• Ensure all rules/regulations are enforced and followed.
• Other duties as determined by management.
