Job summary

Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in Northern Virginia is seeking a Full-Time Security Officer III for night shifts to protect hospital properties, ensure safety, and support emergency operations at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Duties include patrolling, responding to emergencies, fingerprinting, and assisting with reception.

The role requires a security background, a valid state license, MS Office proficiency, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Experience in a security/safety position required.
• Current state motor vehicle operator’s license required.
• Experience with MS Office.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Protect hospital-controlled properties and equipment and provide a safe and secure environment.
• Patrol facilities grounds and buildings ensuring areas are secure and safety issues are addressed.
• Respond to behavioral emergencies and escort individuals on Special Hospitalizations.
• Process electronic fingerprinting, ensure equipment temperatures are functioning, respond to alarms, and support emergency management programs.
• Transport individuals and assist the switchboard/reception.
