Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Security Officer for the Night Shift (Thursday–Monday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM) at UAB St. Vincent's Chilton. Provide security, respond to threats, and assist staff and visitors to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements include Alabama concealed carry permit, Alabama driver's license, and a High School diploma or equivalent. BLS within 30 days, security certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of applicable job experience preferred.
• In-state Alabama concealed carry permit required.
• Driver's license credentialed from the Alabama DMV required.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date; AHA or ARC accepted.
• Security Professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring and timely responses to threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Follow policies for alarms and disaster/preparedness drills.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operate safely to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
