Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Glendale Heights, IL, is seeking a Security Officer for 40 hours a week, 11pm–7:30am. You will handle security tasks, monitor alarms, screen entrants, perform lockdowns, and document incidents in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires high school completion, valid driver’s license, and security training. BLS CPR and Hazmat training are preferred; the facility emphasizes safety, compliance, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's license required.
• 40-hour Security Officer training completed.
• Hazmat training preferred.
• BLS CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform security-related tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Acknowledge and respond to alarms and provide assistance.
• Screen visitors and employees after hours and conduct lockdowns as needed.
• Document crimes and incidents accurately per policy and procedure.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and ensure safety.
• Provide initial first aid when appropriate and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients, visitors, and staff; operate relevant security systems.
