Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking an Overnight Security Officer in Secaucus, NJ. You will provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property, maintaining a visible presence and responding to incidents with timely reporting.

Candidate should hold a security officer license or be able to obtain one, have a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrate strong communication and professional appearance. Position is full-time with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor environment and detect suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and key contacts.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
• Answer phones professionally and document incidents.
• Permit entry for authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols as required.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents and incidents.
