Job summary

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) seeks a full-time 3rd shift Security Officer in Bowie, MD. Shift hours are 10 pm to 6 am, Tuesday through Saturday. The role focuses on access control, patrols, emergency response, and protection of classified information in a government/defense environment.

Qualifications include U.S. Citizenship, TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph, and a high school diploma with security experience. Overtime flexibility is required as needed by supervision.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph.
• High school diploma or equivalent, and two or more years of directly related security guard experience.

Responsibilities

• Regulates personnel entry into building and adjacent areas.
• Patrols the building grounds and monitors for security violations.
• Investigates unusual events and submits incident reports.
• Maintains logs and operates security systems.
• Responds to alarms and Emergencies as directed.
• Conducts escorts and enforces access control for sensitive areas.
