Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer for badge services in Channahon, IL. The role focuses on access control at a chemical/petrochemical location, ensuring secure entry, verifying credentials, and maintaining logs while delivering customer service.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols to identify security concerns.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Verify identification, credentials, authorizations, and visitor documentation before granting access to restricted areas.
• Monitor entry and exit points, control vehicle and pedestrian access, maintain access logs, and report discrepancies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, parking areas, perimeter locations, and facilities to identify security concerns.
