Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor for the Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care team. This full-time night shift runs Monday through Friday with some weekend shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program. ADN holders must complete BSN within one year.
• Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience in acute care.
• Virginia RN license or eNLC privilege; BLS required on start; specialty cert within 1 year; Charge Nurse workshop within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Conducts high-quality shift huddles communicating priorities, barriers, and changes.
• Leads environmental and safety rounding and ensures rounds by Patient, Medical Director, and RN are completed.
• Rounds on staff to remove barriers and enhance engagement in care.
• Reviews core measures and KPIs; analyzes unit outcomes and develops improvement plans.
• Participates in emergency and safety drills as required.
• Ensures adherence to Joint Commission standards relevant to responsibilities.
• Contributes to unit-based quality improvement and strategic outcomes.
• Serves as role model in communicating with patients and resolving concerns.
