Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor for the Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care team. This full-time night shift runs Monday–Friday with some weekend shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible nurses. The role requires a BSN, at least 1 year of acute care RN experience, Virginia RN licensure or eNLC eligibility, BLS certification, and targeted certifications within 1 year, plus completion

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an ADN; must be within one year of completing BSN
• Minimum of 1 year RN clinical experience in the acute care setting
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to practice in Virginia under eNLC
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association required at start
• Specialty certification within one year from date of hire
• Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Conducts high-quality shift huddles communicating priorities and small tests of change
• Ensures environmental and safety rounding and that Patient, Medical Director and RN rounding is completed
• Rounds on staff to remove barriers and enhance staff engagement
• Reviews core measures and metrics and helps develop action plans for quality improvements
• Participates in emergency and safety drills/trainings as required
• Ensures adherence to Joint Commission standards relevant to areas of responsibility
• Contributes to unit-based quality improvement and strategic outcomes
• Serves as role model in patient communication and conflict resolution
