Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Oncology Inpatient Unit on night shifts. You will provide comprehensive nursing care under supervision, with a focus on patient-centered planning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, education, and discharge planning in an on-site Dallas, TX setting. Applicants should have at least 1 year of RN experience and hold a Texas RN license with BLS.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• 1 year of RN experience; specialty areas may require more experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments for patients of all ages.
• Develop and adjust patient care plans with input from the care team.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and communicate outcomes to patients and families.
• Prioritize interventions based on assessment, monitor changes, and update plans accordingly.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and nursing standards of practice.
• Provide education to patients and families and explain discharge plans.
